Really good sauteed mushrooms and onions. You don't typically find this at U.S. theme parks.

I'm trying to save usage on the iPhone International Data plan so I don't go over my allotted 50mb. Instead of posting them from the iPhone, I'll just post them in a batch using the computer. Here's what they are:

  1. Dinner at Hotel Alpenstuben in Schwangau: They called it a "Farmers Plate" or something like that.
  2. Breakfast at Achat Hotel in Stuttgart.
  3. The next three pics are from dinner at Blaue Ecke Hotel Restaurant in Adenau. This one is another beef soup that Kyle really liked.
  4. The boy's surf and turf. He gave me the surf and ate the turf.
  5. My dinner. Viennese Schnitzel (Veal Cutlet)
  6. Dessert. Crepe and Vanilla Ice Cream, plus misc berries. That was so good.

The balcony overlooking the lake was so nice we decided to have our dinner out there. These were some of the biggest cheeseburgers I've ever seen.

Dinner with Phil. Traditional Bavarian Food.

Dinner_with_Phil._Traditional_.zip (992 KB)

For our last night in Münich, we had dinner with my former Yahoo! Co-worker, Phil and his wife, Nicola. We met up at "Kreuzberger" where we ate traditional Bavarian food. Phil and I had a type of traditional pork loin which was very good. The round balls are some sort of pasty potato. The boy had a sausage and fries. Nicola had some sort of lamb thing with pasta that looked like vegetables.

The boy slept for 4-5 hours after lunch so he was pretty drowsy, but once we got going, he was more alert. He dozed off in the taxi over a couple of times. We took a taxi instead of driving my new M3 because the parking situation in Münich is not very good...plus, I wanted to get some German driving tips from Phil before venturing off on our own. Drove the car back and forth to Die Welt a couple of times already though.

The boy likes the smell of coffee.

(download)

I didn't realize the boy was deleting all of his videos after he took them. At least they were all faily mundane (like this one). We should get more interesting stuff today at Die Welt.

Dinner at a hotel restaurant after the funeral.

I feel like I'm getting spoiled with all this good food, but after the funeral we all went to yet another restaurant for another meal. I thought the previous nights' dinner was really good, but this one was even better. The shot in the middle of the food pics of cousin Dave's "oh so happy expression" is when the next dish came out – with shrimp again – since he was just talking about how he doesn't like shrimp

Afterwards, I wanted to get a shot of everyone at our table (there were 3 other tables). Brian (the "captain" of this trip) decided he wanted to get in all of the shots. We all had a good laugh, and I finally made it into one of the pics from my camera.

At the end of the meal, Ezra decided he wanted to be a photographer too. I think he used up the rest of the image capacity on Ben's camera.

Sorry for the bad crops...I was a bit distracted, LOL. Also couldn't get the shots before people started digging in, so some of them are half-eaten already. At this table was the "younger" generation comprised mostly of cousins (and their offspring). The aunts and uncles were at a different table.

The best breakfast I've had in years. I think I'm going to have to go back tomorrow. I didn't quite get to sample everything.
