Hello World!

Parking away from everyone else...except @tquach12 since I know he will be careful with his 335.

This is one of the downsides to having a nicer car. You end up worrying about where to park it. These two do make a handsome pair though, don't they?

Black GT-R parked in front of @oakley HQ

Took this pic earlier this week but haven't had a chance to upload it yet. Sure is nice being able to see so many cool cars at work on a regular basis.

Example of Mobile Photoshop vs The Best Camera App.

Here’s a little test of a shot I took of the boy at Cars & Coffee last Saturday:

  • First shot is edited with Mobile Photoshop
  • Second shot is edited with The Best Camera App
  • Third shot is the original

I prefer the fine control of Mobile Photoshop but wish it had the ability to do a shadow vignette in addition to the soft vignette. You can clearly see the highlight detail better in the Mobile PS version. My biggest complaint with The Best Camera App has always been the highlights get blown out but I do love the simplicity of it.

Finally...success installing the Carbon Fiber Monochrome Side Gills. Here’s some shots of the whole package (for now).

Finally got the CF side gills installed. I was really afraid I was going to break some of the pieces, but heating up the plastic helped quite a bit. There were a couple of areas that bent out of shape and kind of stuck that way after the plastic cooled off, but bending is better than breaking so I’m ok with that. I might need to adjust the gill on the passenger side a little though since I realized after the fact that the light unit didn’t snap all the way in like it’s supposed to.

A few more photos are on my Flickr set.

First few cosmetic M3 mods done. Check out the pics.

It’s just the beginning, but here’s what the boy and I did so far this weekend:

  • Carbon Fiber Kidneys
  • Carbon Fiber Hood Roundel
  • Carbon Fiber Trunk Roundel
  • Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Roundel
  • Monochrome M3 Trunk Emblem
  • Smoked Front Reflectors

I also have a set of Carbon Fiber Side Gills with Monochrome M3 Emblems but I’m having a little trouble getting them installed. One of the pieces on the unit that pulls out looks like it’s pretty easy to break so I’m going to do a little more research before I dive in. My fingers kind of hurt now anyways, from all the squeezing, pulling, pushing, etc. Might give it another attempt tomorrow, otherwise, maybe next week. I also plan on getting the windows tinted and tail lights smoked next week if I can get an appointment at Tint Plus.

I have a few more photos on my Flickr account, including a comparison of the OEM chrome and aftermarket CF kidneys.

It’s been a long miserable 2 months, but the wait is finally over. Here’s a pic of the M3 at the dealership.

So glad it came before the weekend, and, I’m stoked that both euro plates are still on the car. I now have the souvenirs I wanted.

Can’t wait to start the basic cosmetic mods with the boy tomorrow.

A few shots of clouds/sunset from the plane.

It was a pretty nice view from up over the clouds on my way from Cincinnati to Dallas. There were hints of lightning during daylight but once it got dark it was very apparent we were near a storm.

Pretty cool to see the sky light up like that, but it caused a bit of a delay so I barely had enough time to scarf down a sandwich for dinner before I had to board my flight home.

One more leg...

Cloudy skies at airport while I wait for flight. And wait...and wait...

The dreary view is making me want to curl up with a blanket. Doesn't help that I barely slept last night.

Chicago Airport decorated as candidate city for 2016 Olympics. Guess they need to take these down soon.

I’m flying through Chicago on my way to Cincinnati and thought this was interesting/timely. Too bad Obama’s speech didn’t help get the bid.

Tank & Command Bunker: The view leaving the office tonight.

Seeing sights like this every day is inspirational...just wish the iPhone camera could have captured the cloud detail. I love my job.
